According to the Portuguese Shooting Federation (FPT), the minimum age to start practicing Federated Sport Shooting is 10 years old. The essential condition for participating in the sport is that the minor passes the access exams for the Federation License (TAC) from the FPT. Until the age of 14, a child can only practice with freely acquired compressed air weapons. From the age of 14, the newly licensed shooter can practice sport shooting with conditionally acquired compressed air weapons. Practice with firearms is also allowed if the minor passes the access exams for this type of license, the A/D Federation License.
